Hey All. It’s the 14th month of our ‘Debt Free Journey’ and it’s been a great one for us so far.

There was a big surprise when I visited the California Unclaimed Property search page, turns out we had an escrow account from a previous property we sold in 2013 where the lender withheld overages to the tune of $2108 🙂 and we’re getting back that money in 4 weeks, needless to say, that’s a huge chunk that’s going into our debts for this month.

It pays to do a quarterly search for Unclaimed Property since you never know what would turn up.

Here are our numbers from last month.

MARCH 2018 NUMBERS

APRIL 2018 NUMBERS

We managed to shave $4,153 off our total debts by paying  $4,897 total. Our personal loan from my Mom is now gone, that's $550 that's freed up for our debt snowball so the next debt we're attacking now is the consolidation loan we recently opened from BestEgg. And looks like we'll get that done in 7 months on our current path.

It’s still a long way to go but we’re up to the challenge so are excited about the coming month’s progress, will definitely keep everyone posted.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

For the personal development side, I was busy working on my 45 hour CPE class for my California Real Estate License renewal, basically had to sit through an online class and pass the finals in order to get my certificate, so here’s another 4 years of it under my belt.

All in all, I’ve been practicing Real Estate sales for more than 13 years and have been in the industry for almost 22 years now.

One of the strategies I’m looking to accelerate my debt payments is to up my RE game. I’ll be sharing strategies and hopefully closed transactions I get in the future.

GOAL UPDATES

Our Tailwind subscription for Pinterest so far got us 4K average monthly views, and 62 engagements. How it will translate into website views I have yet to see.

Readership month over month fell by about a third from 939 to 608 due to my failure to post an article for 3 weeks 🙁 I blame myself for slacking off and causing readership to dip, I'll be shooting for consistency in the coming weeks ahead.

I still need to work on my networking skills 🙁 my intention is to team up with other new bloggers and see how we can help build our base by collaborating. We'll see how that works out for the month.

WRAPPING UP

Last month was a lazy month for me personally with regards to my blog. But i'm done with making excuses, i've owned up to my lazy ways and the only thing left to do now is to be consistent.

Enough is enough, just like I got tired of my laziness in finances, I'm also tired of my laziness in treating this blog. I'm now personally challenging myself to pay attention and stay consistent in managing this blog and hope to be accountable to you All as time goes on.

Thanks always for being there and sticking with us.

Please let us know what you think or if you have other tips on how to be consistent or how to best take care of money. Leave us a line down below or email us at the debtfreejourney@gmail.com

Til next post, Peace and Blessings to you All.
